Literature & the Echoes of Joy
Stories that heal, inspire, and redefine joy – Umashanker Yadav
Announcing the 11th Edition | 24th–25th October 2026
There are moments in a journey when one pauses—not to look back with nostalgia alone, but to understand the deeper resonance of what has been created and what still calls to be explored. As we step into the 11th edition of our literature festival, scheduled for the 24th and 25th of October 2026, it is with a renewed sense of purpose and a theme that feels both timely and timeless: Literature & the Echoes of Joy.
For over a decade, this festival—conceived and nurtured under the aegis of the Ikon Education Foundation—has been more than a gathering of writers, thinkers, and readers. It has been a living, breathing dialogue. A space where stories are not just told, but felt. Where ideas are not merely discussed, but lived. What began as a dream has evolved into a vibrant cultural confluence, welcoming voices from across India and around the world, while remaining deeply rooted in inclusivity and regional representation.
Each edition has carried a distinct theme, reflecting the changing currents of society and the evolving role of literature within it. This year, however, the theme emerges from a more urgent and introspective space. In an age where children and young adults increasingly navigate pressures, uncertainties, and silent struggles around mental well-being, the question we must ask is simple yet profound: Where does one find lasting joy?
We believe literature holds one of the answers.
Not as an escape, but as an anchor. Not as distraction, but as discovery.
Stories have always been humanity’s quiet companions—offering solace in solitude, courage in confusion, and meaning in moments of doubt. Through poetry, prose, and personal narratives, literature allows young minds to articulate what they often cannot say aloud. It fosters empathy, builds emotional resilience, and reminds us that joy is not always loud—it often echoes softly within.
This edition, therefore, is not merely a celebration of books, but a conscious exploration of literature as a pathway to inner well-being and sustained happiness.
Our focus continues to remain strongly on children and young adults—the thinkers, creators, and leaders of tomorrow. The festival will bring together an inspiring spectrum of speakers: authors, educators, artists, psychologists, entrepreneurs, and change-makers from diverse walks of life. Their conversations will not only span genres and geographies but also bridge disciplines—reflecting the interconnected nature of modern thought.
Over the past ten years, the festival has achieved what it set out to do—create access, ignite curiosity, and build a community. From nurturing first-time readers to hosting internationally acclaimed voices, from celebrating regional literature to enabling meaningful dialogues, the journey has been marked by both scale and soul.
Yet, the road ahead is even more compelling.
In the coming years, we envision deeper engagement with young audiences, expanded global collaborations, and stronger integration of literature with education, creativity, and emotional well-being. We aim to create not just an annual event, but a year-round movement—where literature becomes a companion in everyday life.
As Founder Director, I see this festival not just as an initiative, but as a responsibility—a commitment to shaping a space where ideas inspire, stories heal, and joy finds its voice.
As we open the doors to this new edition, I invite literature enthusiasts, educators, parents, and young minds to be a part of this journey. Come, listen to the echoes. You may just find that they lead you closer to yourself.
Please stay tuned to our website www.ailf.co.in and social media pages for the updates.
Founder Director and manging Trustee

The event is wished my best wishes and lasting impact it wishes to generate.
Thank you.
Indeed a commendable approach to carry the legacy of literature in current scenario, where the perception of people is specially diverted. Reading literature in any language is the only way to know about our roots rest all mediums are not to be trusted fully. We should always encourage children also to read books if we want to know them to know about our culture, value system and rich heritage. It will be always an honour to be associated with such platform. Looking forward to meet all intellectuals and learned people on this platform.🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏
Thanks a lot.
I’ve been attending the Ahmedabad International Literature Festival since 2019 and it has only surpassed the bar since then. It has only improved.
Every year the panels feel sharper, the diversity of voices wider, and the conversations more urgent. The curation keeps raising the standard for what a lit fest in India can be.
Hats off to mr. Umashankar yadav sir for building not just an event, but a true literary community. Already counting down to the next edition.
Thank you so much.
Great news !!! Thanks for sharing Umashankar ji,
It is heartening to see the 11th Edition of this festival focusing on ‘The Echoes of Joy.’ In a world that often moves too fast, the idea of literature serving as a pathway to inner well-being and emotional resilience is exactly what our youth needs right now.
Kudos to the Ikon Education Foundation and the Founder Director Umashankar ji for nurturing a space where stories do more than just fill pages—they heal and empower. I especially love the sentiment that joy doesn’t always have to be loud; sometimes it’s the quiet strength we find between the lines of a favorite book.
Wishing our team immense success for October 24th–25th! Can’t wait to see how these dialogues inspire the next generation of thinkers and creators. 📚✨”
