Dr. Sharifa Vijaliwala is a distinguished Gujarati critic, editor, and eminent translator. She is widely acclaimed for her extensive research on Partition literature and her exceptional Gujarati translations of Urdu and Hindi literary works. A former Professor and Head of the Department of Gujarati at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), Surat, she is currently retired. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to literature, she was honored with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi Award in 2018, alongside numerous other national and state-level accolades.
