Dr. Sagar is an acclaimed lyricist and poet whose words have graced over 50 films, bringing depth and emotion to the voices of some of Bollywood’s most celebrated singers, including Arijit Singh, Shreya Ghoshal, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Kailash Kher. A native of Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, and an alumnus of JNU (M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D.), Dr. Sagar’s repertoire spans acclaimed films and series such as Bheed, Afwaah, Anaarkali of Aarah, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, Maharani (Seasons 2–4), and the viral rap sensation Bambai Main Ka Ba directed by Anubhav Sinha. His evocative writing has earned him honours like the Ballia Ratna Award and recognition from the Governor of Maharashtra. Collaborating with renowned directors and music maestros such as Anurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra, Ilaiyaraaja, and Salim–Sulaiman, Dr. Sagar continues to bridge the worlds of literature and cinema through his lyrical artistry.
