Dr. Kumarpal Desai is a highly distinguished Gujarati critic, journalist, and an eminent Jain scholar. He has a prolific literary career spanning children's literature, sports journalism, philosophy, and cultural essays. He has been a foundational pillar and the driving force behind the development of the Gujarati Vishwakosh Trust (Gujarati Encyclopedia), currently serving as its Managing Trustee and Director to preserve and expand the reach of the Gujarati language. In recognition of his monumental contributions to education, literature, and culture, he was honored with India’s prestigious Padma Shri and the supreme Gujarati literary honour, the Ranjitram Suvarnachandrak.
