Name: Dr. Upendra Nath Raina ( Eminent Hindi Poet, Dramatist and Media Personality ), Assistant Director (Retired), Directorate General : All India Radio, Prasar Bharati 

Birth: April 2, 1953, Srinagar, Kashmir (Currently residing in Delhi due to displacement from Kashmir)

Education: Bachelor of Science, M.A. (Hindi) (Kashmir University), Ph.D. subject: Modern Sensibility in Post Sixty Hindi and Kashmiri poetry.

Writing and translation work in Kashmiri language

1)have been writing Short stories, poems, plays, talks etc. in Kashmiri language since the age of 18, which were broadcast from Akashvani Srinagar, Kashmir.

2) Serial broadcast from Akashvani Srinagar of my Kashmiri translation of some important chapters of Kalhan's Rajtarangini.

3) Translation of the scripts of Kashmiri programs broadcast from Akashvani Srinagar into Hindi.

4)have an experience of Writing and directing stage plays in Kashmiri and Hindi languages.

5) Presentation of Hindi translation of selected poems of Kashmiri language in the Sarvbhasha Kavi Sammelan organized by All India Radio.

6) “Modern Kashmiri Poetry: A Journey” article published in “Indraprastha Bharti”, the leading Hindi magazine of Hindi Academy, Delhi.

7) Research article on “Contemporary Hindi and Kashmiri Poetry” published in “Vitasta” magazine.

8) Kashmiri translation of Hindi poems published in “Bhasha” magazine.

Other literary/cultural activities:

1) Participated in various literary/poetry seminars at national level.

2) During  35 years of tenure in Akashvani, played active responsibility of  projecting, operation and presentation of various literary events at national and international level.

3) Special role in Akashvani program production, planning and marketing.

4) 'Programme Management and Planning' course in the field of Radio Journalism in Germany in 1988.

5) Till date, about 350 programs have been conducted and coordinated in my Facebook Page Live program, which was started in 2020, in which eminent litterateurs, musicians, filmmakers, painters, artists etc. from India and abroad have been invited.

Present: Freelance writing after retiring from the post of Senior Program Officer from Directorate General of Radio (Prasar Bharati) in 2013.
