Professor Dr. Sudhir V. Shah

Professor Dr. Sudhir V. Shah is a Consultant Neurologist of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.  He took his DM in neurology from the University of Bombay. Currently, Prof. Shah is the Professor & Head of Department of Neurology at the K. M. School of PG Medicine & Research at the V. S. General Hospital and the Director of Neurosciences at the Sterling Hospitals. He is HOD, neurology at Smt NHL municipal medical college and SVPIMSR. He is an Honorary Neurologist to the Governor of Gujarat. He is a Founder Chairman of Jain Doctors Federation & Advisor to World Yoga Foundation.

Prof. Shah has specialized in various aspects of neurology including the understanding and cure of diseases like Epilepsy, Stroke, Movement disorder, Dementia and Neuro-muscular diseases. Prof. Shah pioneered interventional neurology in Gujarat. His work on a monk who lived only on air has received international acclaim.

Prof. Shah has authored several original research papers, book chapters and four books. It is noteworthy that his books were sold extensively (over 60,000 copies) and all the money thus earned, has been used for philanthropy. The European and American media agencies made numerous documentary films on his extensive work & contributions. The BBC, Discovery channel, CNBC, and other media channels, interviewed him.

Several National and International societies & bodies honored Prof. Shah for his contributions. These include;

a) the prestigious and third highest civilian award of India, the Padmashri;

b) the coveted Dr. B. C. Roy award, by the Medical Council of India as Eminent Medical Teacher

Prof. Shah has a multifaceted personality - a teacher, a writer, a musician, an orator, an erudite scholar, a scientist, a Philanthropist, an occultist and an administrator. His personal library contains over 9000 books on philosophy, religion, ethics and culture and he has given selfless medical services to over 5,000 saints from different religions & sects.
