Jay Makwana is a Baroda-based bilingual orator (Gujarati and Hindi), a writer,critic,poet,philosopher and a ‘KATHAKAR’.
He is one of the founding members of the first ever Literary Festival of Vadodara – Sayaji Literature Festival.
He is also the founder of ‘Mahatma Gandhi Youth Organisation’. M.G.Y.O. (Mahatma Gandhi Youth Organization) is a team that works on the basis of Art, Knowledge and Culture.
The sole aim of the organisation was to portray our Indian traditions, customs and festivals with a modern touch, so that they are accepted whole heartedly by the youngsters.
Under M.G.Y.O., with a view to bridge the generation gap, some unique events such as ‘ROBO RATH YATRA’ – Lord Jagannath’s idol was carried on a ROBOT, ’LOVE FEST’ – a literary event based on Krishna on Janmashtami – were successfully organised.
He was also associated with Vadodara National Book Fair (VNBF) organised in 2016.In the first edition of AILF, he presented his views on the topic : ‘AKHA NU AMDAVAD’.
He also has written short stories in Gujarati and is currently working on his book – ‘KANHASUTRA’. He has a diploma in Architecture and is currently pursuing for a Bachelor’s Degree in Gujarati Literature from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara.
