 Prof. Dheeraj Sharma is Director, Indian Institute of Management-Rohtak. In experience of over twenty years, he has taught at numerous educational institutions in Europe, Asia, and North America. Prof. Sharma has a doctoral degree in business administration with a major in marketing strategy and a double minor in psychology and quantitative analysis from Louisiana Tech University, USA. He has been recognized a global thought leader for 2019 & 2022 by Academy of Global Business Advancement, USA. He was also recognized as turnaround man for turning around organization by outlook magazine in 2020. He is a member of who’s who of American professionals and who’s who in the world. Prof. Sharma is past Associate Editor of the Journal of Marketing Channels. He is past editor of the Academy of Marketing Science proceedings and the Academy of Marketing Science Cultural Perspectives. He is an active member of the Academy of Marketing Science, American Marketing Association, and National Conference of Sales Management. Currently, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of Emerging Economies Case Journal. Prof. Sharma has authored ten books in various domains of management such as Principles of Marketing, B2B Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Global Marketing, Managing Millennial Workforce, and Not for Profit Marketing. Prof. Sharma’s work in the public policy domain is well recognized. He has served as consultant or in advisory roles with Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of Gujarat, Govt. of Punjab, and Govt. of Delhi. He has consulted or conducted training programs for a large number of multinational companies, national companies, and various “governments of India” organizations. Prof. Sharma specifically dealt with several issues related to occupational stress, attrition, force motivation issues, ethical issues, performance management issues, optimization of retail channels, branding, and perception management issues, Public Private Partnership issues, and issues related to developing strategic response to challenging situations among other important areas. Prof. Sharma made considerable contribution to IRCTC in developing marketing strategies for alternative revenue streams by appropriate marketing of railway products such as food services, rail neer, insurance, tourism among others. As a former member of board of Milkfed, Prof Sharma was part of the team that developed expansion strategy of Milkfed’s marketing and distribution network to different states and abroad and brand development of Milkfed. As a member of Alkem board, Prof Sharma continued to be actively involved in company’s risk management strategies, HR, and branding strategies. As a member of NABARD consultancy board, Prof Sharma is actively involved in guiding the organizing developing new areas for revenue generation.
