Alison Reilly studied Sociology and History in University College Cork and has a Masters in the Sociology of Development. She worked in the area of local development and social inclusion for many years in Ireland and spent two years in the Ministry of Social Development in New Zealand. She then moved into the Culture sector and worked for international film and arts festivals in Ireland.
Alison joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2018 and was posted to Mumbai as Deputy Consul General in March 2019.
The Consulate General was established in March 2019 in recognition of the strong and growing links between Ireland and western India. As well as providing consular services to Irish people in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa, the Consulate works to further strengthening the strong bilateral relations between Ireland and India.
The Consulate works to promote greater awareness of Ireland, our arts and culture and as trade and investments links between Ireland and India continue to grow our focus is on engaging with the Irish state agencies and the local Indian business sector.
