Rajeev Malik is Senior General Manager - Marketing & Brand for Mahindra & Mahindra, Truck and Bus Division.The out-of-box marketing initiatives launched by the organizationand nurtured into strong brand properties like Outperformers’ League Transporter Forum, Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards, MPOWER and WAR ROOM with IIM - Ahmedabad as Knowledge partner, have built a strong customer connect for the challenger brand and won the brand several awards and accolades during Rajeev’s tenure. In 2014, the World Marketing Congress has conferred the Brand ExcellenceAward on Mahindra Truck and Bus Division for its innovative marketing initiatives.
Rajeev completed his mechanical engineering from Gujarat University and then an MBA in Marketing from Pune University. In his career spanning 28 years, he has been associated with several brands. He started his career with Modi Xerox at Mumbai in 1988. Thereafter, he joined Blue Star Ltd as the Executive Assistant to VP-Marketing, where he learnt the ropes of Strategic planning, market research, market estimation, business reviews and a lot more. Thereafter, his love for marketing drove him into yet another aggressive sales and marketing company, Eureka Forbes Ltd. where he learnt the art of product management.
After 6 years in Mumbai, he moved to the Middle East, to join one of the largest and most professionally managed groups to look after marketing of automobiles at TOYOTA and DAIHATSU automobiles.
Rajeev, returned to India in 2005 to take over the mantle of heading the research and consumer insights as Vice President, Automotive Division at TNS Automotive, an MNC Research firm based at Bangalore. Thereafter, he moved to Pune – heading marketing for a start-up TATA Brand to take on the likes of EXIDE and Amaron batteries.
Rajeev has been honored with the coveted award, ‘50 Most Talented CMOs of India’, in 2013.
Rajiv lives in Mumbai with his family – wife Blanche and daughter, Nikita. He is a nature lover and a keen wildlife enthusiast and a passionate, amateur photographer. If not marketing trucks, Rajeev would like to devote himself to tiger conservation and photography. His other interests are music, movies and social media.
