Ahmedabad International Literature Festival seeks to promote writing & reading, particularly among children & young adults, with a focus on storytelling, poetry, entrepreneurship and self-development.By inviting reputed writers and speakers to Ahmedabad from India and abroad, AILF also aims to promote literary tourism by introducing the participants to the rich language and culture of Gujarat.
Ahmedabad International Literature Festival has been conceived as an annual festival that introduces writers, poets and storytellers from outside Gujarat to those living in the state. While it aims to promote Gujarati culture with special focus on local literature and also promote literary tourism by celebrating the power of the written word, AILF aspires to position the city of Ahmedabad on the literary map of India.
We ,at AILF, believe that good literature is the bedrock that creates evolved professionals in every field including science, technology, startups, politics and business. Through literature, children learn about the past as well as the present and about variety of cultures, including their own. Literature increases the social adaptability of people and contributes to an enhanced state of individual and collective resilience.
As books are the most powerful and enjoyable recreational and educational tools known to the human beings, AILF hopes to create a conducive environment and education which will ultimately lead to enhancement of language and creative skills of everyone.
